Important Tire Maintenance for your Car

Brought to you by Warren Henry Auto Group

There are many different parts of your vehicle that need specific attention. Remember, your vehicle is a moving machine, and while we wish it would never have any problems, the fact is, time and wearing are always going to cause some issue or another. The best thing you can do in this case is have routine maintenance that makes sure that maybe some of those problems can be found or avoided before they get too bad. Today we are focusing on what you should be doing to keep your tires in as good condition as they are able to be in. At our service center, we know that we have technicians that will be able to help you out with ease if you are dealing with something that is out of your comfort zone. No problem is too big or too small for us, not if it’s helping you.

Know your tires

What we mean by this is inspecting your tires. You should hopefully be doing this fairly regularly, as you want to have a good idea of the wear patterns on your tires, and if anything looks more out of the ordinary than usual. It’s never a bad thing to have too much information. You also want to make sure that your tires are not over or under-inflated, which can cause more problems than you are probably aware of. If you do notice that something seems to be off, especially with how your tires are wearing, it might be time to schedule an appointment to see if we can help you!

Tire treads

These are the main reasons why tires are so important! While you obviously need the wheels to spin so you can move forward, you also need enough grip on the road to not be slipping and sliding everywhere, regardless of the weather. You need to be checking the depth of your tire tread regularly, and you can do so with the penny test, or the quarter test. Just put these coins head down, and make sure that a part of the head is covered up. Are your treads too low? Then a set of new tires could be in your future.

Basic maintenance

There are a few different maintenance things that can be covered at service centers like ours. This includes a tire rotation, tire balancing, and a wheel alignment. The purpose here is to make sure that your tires are wearing evenly, and that no damage is being incurred to your vehicle as a whole. You do not want your tires to be wreaking havoc on the overall system, and if something is out of balance, or your treads are wearing incorrectly, that could cause problems in the future if left unchecked.
